Sunday School is offered during the lessons and sermon portion of the 11 am service. Each month we focus on a different Bible Story, learning about it in a different way (art, music, games, science, etc.) each week. Our teachers rotate (email Pastor Susanna if you’d like to volunteer!) so we share the responsibility. Our theme for 2019 is “God Loves Us” and our stories are:

  • October: Creation

  • November: Baby Moses

  • December: The birth of Jesus

  • January: The Good Shepherd

  • February: The Prodigal Son

  • March: Raising Lazarus

  • April: Easter

  • May: Ten Commandments

Stir up in them the gift of your Holy Spirit: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord, the spirit of joy in your presence, both now and forever. (Blessing for Confirmation, Evangelical Lutheran Worship).

In Confirmation class, we work on stirring up the spirits of Confirmands so that they will take responsibility for their life-long faith journey. Confirmation is a chance to ask questions, build relationships, learn about God and the church, experience both doubt and belief, serve God’s people, worship God, and have fun together.

At Amazing Grace, Confirmation is a three-year process (6th-8th grades) culmination in Affirmation of Baptism on Reformation Day of the 9th grade year. Pastor Susanna Muzzin teaches confirmation classes, assisted by our Faith Formation Team Leader, Rachel Alsaiyad.

Confirmation meets two Sundays a month from about 12:30 to 2:00 pm (after the 11 am service.) We eat a meal together, learn about God, the Bible, our faith, and the church, and share highs and lows. Fun activities are scheduled throughout the year as well.
